Short.ie is a free service that lets you shorten URLs. To enhance the usefulness of the service we also provide additional features such as URL statistics, content recommendation, social bookmarking and Twitter integration. This service may only be used for actual URLs. Using the service as a method to SPAM people is forbidden. Using the service for any illegal purpose whasoever is also not allowed.

Any breach of these rules may result in the deletion of the short URL and deactivation of your account, if you have one. We may also report you to the authorities if we deem it necessary. The Short.ie service is provided without warranty of any kind.

Proper Usage

Short.ie may not be used for the following activities:

• Unsolicited advertising or any other form of SPAM;
• Generating links that point to any illegal content such as child pornography;
• Generating links to other URL shortening services

Fair Use Policy

There are no automatic limits imposed on user activity, but we ask our users to use it within reason, and not to over use or abuse the service. Any activity from a single IP address in any given day that exceeds more then 500 shortened URLs and/or 5,000 clicks on generated URLs will be deemed excessive use and we reserve the right to disable or block that user from the service for as long as we see fit.

Privacy Policy

As part of the service provided we collect usage statistics on generated links, click-throughs, user activity and various other areas. We reserve the right to publish this information on our website or on any other medium we deem suitable.

By using this service you agree to have your generated links displayed as part of the public timeline, unless you have marked them as private, and where available we will identify you as the creator of that link.

We collect personal information on our registered users such as name, email address, etc. and we reserve the right to publish identifying information about our users in our summarised usage tables both on the homepage and within the website. We will never publish the email addresses of our registered users, these are used to verify the identity of the user only.

We reserve the right to aggregate user usage statistics and to publish that information on our site or anywhere else we deem suitable.

Cookies

In order to provide enahanced features such as user areas and click tracking, we store a cookie on the users browser to identify them when they revisit our website.
